Let’s empower them to live with diginity, joy and purpose

Homelessness is an issue that affects people regardless of their age, gender, race, or religion.

Two little girls, aged around 7 and 12, are sitting against a beam covered with a blanket on the street, near a shopping cart filled with clothes and bags of other miscellaneous things. The younger girl is holding a sign that reads ‘Hungry please help’, while the older girl is holding a paper cup for donations. Both girls are dirty, with unkempt hair, and appear to be in distress.

The man in the picture was once a proud and prosperous individual, surrounded by many loved ones. However, he now lives on the street and struggles to make ends meet every day. While asking for help has been difficult, receiving it has been even harder.

A man who lost his job, home, and wife has found shelter at the corner of an alley behind a building. He holds a sign that reads ‘Lost my job, lost my home, lost my wife’.

“This 45-year-old homeless woman lost her husband and her home in the same year, and is now living on the streets, barely surviving on handouts from people passing by.”

“Life should not take you to a place where you have to sleep in an unsafe environment.” It’s important to prioritize your safety and well-being, especially when it comes to sleeping arrangements.  If you’re ever in a situation where you feel unsafe, and the next safe haven is on the streets please don’t hesitate to reach out to someone, a trusted friend, a family member, or an authority figure for help. You deserve to feel safe and secure in your sleeping environment.
